When children hesitantly ask for food, farmers market attendees in Palm Beach, Florida barely hesitate before offering to purchase some.

The kids are all actors, but their unsuspecting benefactors are participants in a social experiment. The experiment was created by the Palm Beach County Food Bank to raise awareness about hunger among the younger members of the community.


During the school year, low-income children can depend on regular meals provided by their schools.

When summer comes, however, that source of food disappears. The food bank hopes to remind locals these children depend on their donations as ways to get by.
