Judge Datuk Wan Afrah Wan Ibrahim made the decision after she was satisfied that the prosecution has proven the case against the accused, Ekene Collins Isaac, 37, beyond reasonable doubt.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is set to reopen the trial of high profile politicians whose corruption cases had either been delayed or put in abeyance as a result of court injunctions. A top management officer of the EFCC told Vanguard , yesterday, that the commission under the leadership of acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu, was bent on reopening all the corruption cases involving top politicians, who were shielded by the court through perpetual injunctions that had temporarily tied the hands of the commission from prosecuting them.

Former governor of old Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo has denied media reports that he collected any money from the embattled former National Security Adviser, Dasuki Sambo. In an interview with Premium Times , Nwobodo said the only money he collected was N100 million from his party PDP for campaign logistics. "I have never met Sambo Dasuki. I know Yuguda as former minister, that is all. What happened was that I was invited alongside 15 leaders of PDP in the South East to the residence of Ahmed Muazu to collect the money allocated to our zone by the PDP.

Philip Chism, who was 14 at the time, admitted sexually assaulting and killing 24-year-old Colleen Ritzer. But today he was convicted of three out of four counts in relation to the attack. The victim's mother Peggie was in tears as she embraced her family after the verdict. Chism claimed he was mentally unstable at the time of incident at Danvers High School in Massachusetts in October 2013.

A Nigerian woman who burned a man's legs and genitals with a hot iron during sex has been jailed for nine years. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Sunny Onuesoke has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s allocation of N39.4 billion for oil exploration in the Northern part of Nigeria. President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday submitted a three-year, Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to the Senate, proposing a budget of N6.04 trillion for the fiscal year of 2016.
