Missing Ohio teen found in Missouri home, held captive and raped since November: court docs
An Ohio teen missing since November was found alive in Missouri on Tuesday night, more than 600 miles from her Brooklyn home.
The 15-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped by an online predator, who she met through the chatting app Kik, according to an affidavit obtained by the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He kept the girl captive in his Marthasville home for almost a month, forcing her to clean his home and have sex with him.
The 41-year-old creep, Christopher Schroeder, met his teen victim in late October or early November, according to court documents. She told him she was "unhappy at home," and the suspect offered to "pick her up and help her."
The Daily News is not naming the teen because she is a sexual assault victim.
The day the Ohio teen disappeared, she told her family she was leaving to walk the dog. Ten minutes later, her stepsister found the dog, but the girl was out of sight.
The teen victim stepped into Schroeder's car, where the alleged kidnapper made her take out her phone's SIM card and battery and break them, so she could not be tracked, according to court docs. He then sped off, only stopping for gas. The entire time, the teen victim had no idea where she was headed.
During the drive, Schroeder told the girl that he was going to have sex with her, and she told him she was only 15, according to the papers.
Once they arrived at the man's Missouri home, Schroeder forced himself on the victim and had sex with her, she told authorities. He also set up house rules for his captive victim:
- She was to have sex with him and clean the house
- She could not use the internet or phone without permission
He also forced her to change her appearance by cutting her hair and losing weight, in an attempt to disguise her, authorities allege. Schroeder also told her to never give her real name. He smashed the girl's phone and threw it into a river, according to the affidavit.
She told the suspect that she wanted to go home, but he said she wasn't allowed to leave. She feared escaping because he had several guns in the home, court documents revealed.
For the next month, he had sex with her and recorded it. Missouri police finally tracked down the perv with help from the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children, and busted him on Tuesday. Cops found video cameras set up in the bedroom, with clips of him having sex with the teen on the DVR, authorities said.

Schroeder told cops that the girl was delivered to her, and he thought she was 18, even though the girl clarified she was 15 both in the car and in chatlogs, police said.
He was charged with production of child pornography, transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and statutory rape. He faces 15 to life in prison, if convicted.
The victim's family was under the impression she had run away the whole time.
"We love you, and we're not mad at you. We'll work through anything, we're family," her stepfather said in November.
The search even gained support from actor Nicolas Cage and the three Cleveland women who were kidnapped, held captive and tortured by Ariel Castro in his "house of horrors."
