The Provost, Federal College of Education, Okene, Kogi State, Dr Ajayi Iyela has reacted to calls for the scrapping of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).                        A 21-year-old suspected robber, Akeem Popoola, says a police inspector attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, uses him to swindle unsuspecting victims. He said he had worked for the policeman, identified as Inspector Festus, aka Ijaya, for about four months before he was arrested.The carpenter, who is currently in custody at the Agbado divison, Ogun State, was arrested for robbery and burglary. A mattress and speakers of a sound system were reportedly recovered from him in the Giwa area of Agbado on April 6.

    A cop has been hailed a hero after she breastfed a baby after his teenage mum walked out on him. The moving incident took place in Tunuyan, Argentina. According to the child's father, the tot's 15-year-old mother fled the family home after having an argument with him and the baby's grandfather. Soon after the baby begun to cry uncontrollably.                                  A WANTED woman accused of plotting the murder of a love rival has been arrested in Mexico. Brenda Delgado, 33, is alleged to have convinced an accomplice to kill dentist Kendra Hatcher, who was dating her ex-boyfriend. The pair were set to go on holiday together before Delgado learned of this, and orchestrated the killing in Dallas, Texas.

                                   More than 2,600 people have been arrested in Ethiopia's Oromia region in the last three weeks to prevent further protests, an opposition group has said. In January, Ethiopia scrapped plans to incorporate parts of the region into the capital, Addis Ababa, following widespread protests which, according to activists, led to about 200 people being killed by the security forces.

Family health physician, Segun Fadare, says cigarette smoking increases risk of contracting cancer, heart and numerous other diseases. The newly-established Dangote Tomato Processing Factory in Kadawa, Kano State has the capacity to process 120 tonnes of fresh tomatoes per day at full capacity, an official has said.
