Samson, a bricklayer, had stolen two mobile phones from his victims after breaking into their homes at Etete in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. EFCC re-arraigns Indian for N32b bank fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday re-arraigned an Indian businessman, Patrick Fernandez, at the Federal High Court in Lagos for allegedly perpetrating a banking fraud involving N32 billion. Fernandez, with three of his companies, is facing a 56-count of fraud. He pleaded not guilty to all counts. He was re-arraigned because the judge handling the case, Justice John Tsoho, was transferred to Abuja. A new judge, Justice Mojisola Olatoregun-Ishola, who was transferred from Asaba to Lagos, took over the case, to start afresh before her.

Dr Arikawe Adeolu, a medical practitioner at Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, Abuja, on Monday, said women still menstruating after 50 years of age were still fertile. He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that every woman was born with specific number of eggs which she loses during menstrual cycle. He said that a woman could only enter the stage of menopause when all the eggs were exhausted, adding that this usually occurred between the age of 45 and 55 years.

A 32-year-old visually impaired man, Kamilu Suleiman, has decided to sell one of his kidneys to further his education. Gov polls: EFCC arrests INEC chiefs for taking N675m in bribes

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has found over N675.1m in the bank accounts of different Independent National Electoral Commission officials in Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Delta states. According to the anti-graft agency, the money was received and shared by the officials during the last governorship elections. Our correspondents gathered that the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the 2015 election in Rivers State, Mrs. Gesila Khan, and other officials of INEC are already in EFCC custody.
